The photography products I offer range from metal, canvas, and paper prints to mugs and greeting cards. I am a photographer capturing wildlife in the PNW, primarily in the marine environment. Most of my work has been based around the Salish Sea, with some from Southeast Alaska. I began this work four years ago as a marine naturalist, and it is rooted in my passion for using photography as a storytelling medium to highlight the individual lives and personalities of animals and enhance education and conservation for these amazing beings. My goal is for each piece to help people feel a connection to the animal and place in the photograph. With each photo that depicts a whale, there is a history and background of that individual whale. One of my favorite moments I captured this past year was a double breach by the two humpback whales Arpeggio and Hilda. Another one of my favorites is a family photo of the orcas in the T36B matriline. I believe that my educational background in marine biology, fisheries science, and marine and environmental affairs, along with my teaching experience in high school classrooms and aboard whale-watching vessels, brings a uniquely personalized experience to each piece of photography.
